I have a fluval 205 that is leaking it pumps water but there is a pretty significant leak. I am filtering a 55 gallon. I am using a top fin 75 hob and i am looking to use the fluval with the topfin for adequate filtration. I was hoping u guys can lend me some help trying to figure out why the fluval is leaking. I am think about maybe the gasket is leaking.

I would remove and lube the gasket with silicon grease and retry unless the gasket is in really bad shape then it will have to be replaced. How old is the can?

I got it from a friend i have no used it in a year because i have never had more than 1 tank. My friend was using it for a few years before he gave it to me im not sure exactly but i would say about 3-4 years old in total.

If it set dry the gasket could be cracked, I have never had my fluval leak on me and it is ten years old, is the lid set properly? If so the gasket is all I can think it might be
