my old texas that died i noticed when i got it had black markings on the very end of its tail and fins. and i he was otherwise fine until he started acting weirdly and died.
my point si another of my fish has it and was wondering if this is finrot? or another desease, if so could people post some pics and advise me what medication to use?

Pics? We need your pics as well as water parameters, tank size, tankmates, foods used, new additions in your tank and tank maintenance regimen to be able to pinpoint the cause.

4'x18"X16"
this one 2" cichlid and a bichir... im restarting the tank + i just noticed it on my texas and it died so i was wondering if its a desease ?
the water quality is exelent the filter is overpowered and i do weekly waterchanges and theres only 2 fish in there

What exactly are the water parameters? What test kit are you using?

i dont use them. can anyone just tell me if theres a desease which turns the edgings of the fins black? or is it just a coloration of the fish as it is a hybrid

The fins sound like they're deteriorating to me. Buy API test kit to determine your water parameters. Water changes will do for now until you can tell us your water parameters.

okay thanks for the responce, i did an unusualy large one at the weekend and it looks to be dissapearing now! so i guess it was just a water quality issue as i did have a fish die in there the week before. thanks for your help Lupin and Dr Joe, il be sure to get some test kits in future =)

Glad the water changes helped.:) I'd do daily for now until the fins recover completely. Then make every 2-3 days as your new routine to avoid another incident.
