Fin FUngus

Hi All, I believe my fish have fin fungus, last night only one of my jack Dempsey had it and now 2 other fish have it.
It seems to be caused by water change and is not a disease, what can i do to get rid of it ?
I use purigen in my tank, would i have to remove the purigen before doing anything ?

Scratch that it seems that its an actual fungus just had a look and i can actually see it starting on another jack dempsey on his side. Okay guess got to go and get a fungus treatment, do i have to remove the purigen before i add it to the tank ?

Right i have removed the pruigen from the filter so that when i add the meds the purigen wont soak it up, am i correct in thinking that before i put the purigen back i should use carbon to get rid of the meds once the fungus has gone ?

Still no reply ? Hmm anyways got interpret fungus remover and salts. Should do the trick.

Remove all chemical media from the system. Do a 50% water change and wait at least 30 mins after adding any water conditioner/redox reducer before adding meds.

I have removed the purigen but left the ceramic rings in the filter. A 50 percent water change was done last night. Should I just use salt first or use both salt and medication (anti fungus)

The ceramic rings can stay. Salt is safe to use with the meds. 1 tablespoon per 19 liters or 5 gallons.

Thanks for your help. Instructions I have for tonic salt are tablespoon per 5L. Are you sure it's fine to do as you suggested ? Sorry just being cautious.

Yes it's safe. 1 tablespoon per 5 Liters is about 1 tbls per gallon you don't need that much 1 tbls per 5 gallons (19L) is enough with the meds. I'm telling you to use less not more.
