I know Piranhas are bad fin nippers, but myn have never really had a problem with it untill now. The big one that used to be the domanite one, is not anymore and he is getting new fin damage alost every other day, not bad but noticable. Also I am leaving town next wednesday and not coming back untill sunday, I figured i would feed them well right before I left and put a bunch of feeders in for that three day period im gone. Do you think the fin nipping will turn into killing when I leave also im taking the juvi rbp's out of there 36 gallon grow out and moving them to a 75 gallon after I get back from being out of town, will this reduce the aggression, and there is only three of them? Also I only feed once a day becasue when I feed twice they dont really eat much each time just a little so I dropped down to once a day and they do eat more, but is this a cause of aggression also?

hunger wouldn't cause fin nips... they are just getting bigger and probably a bit more territorial, things will probably be better when you add more. for now, i wouldn't worry about it unless you see more serious signs of aggression.

joe is right! i wouldnt worry too much of fin nipping. just watch for the big bites. mine have been together for 18 months. they still bite and fin nip.

its turned into biting, not a bad bite but one of the has a bite on the top of him, i am going to bo purchase the 75 gallon taday but i cant but them in for awhile, will they start getting worse about the biting?

once a day feeding is good, how big are your 2 that your having problems with?

That's hard to predict. I had one get a bite on top of him early on but i haven't experienced any bites on any of them since. There's another member here that had one get a pretty nasty bite on the bottom on his but it was able to full recover without seperating it. I've also heard stories of Ps having to be seperated or one just randomly being knocked off.
