Hey all.

I have a Jack Dempsey, a Firemouth, and a goldfish, and they are all showing signs of fin rot. But the problem is, I have an aquatic caecilian in the tank with them and I assume that antibiotics for the fish will poison the caecilian since it's an amphibian.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Thanks.

Water changes. add some salt.

Remove the snakish looking thing and dope up the fish.

A teaspoon per gallon of table salt (no yellow prussiate added; iodine is non-issue) should do it. Add another teaspoon per gallon in the next 12 hours to total two teaspoons per gallon of salt. The salt should prevent bacteria from further infecting the fins. Water changes should also be done definitely.

Could you please post your water parameters?

No antibiotics yet.
