ACK!!! I woke up yesterday to something serious going on in my tank, everyone's fins look really ratty. Automatically knew it was my water params (had over feeding issues recently). Did a 50% water change yesterday AM, stress coat. This morning took the carbon filter out and added primafix and melafix. How often should I do water changes and treat with the meds? How big should I make the water changes? This is the first problem I have had in a LOOOOOONG time!

I don't have any test strips left (won't be able to pick any up till friday). So I don't know the exact params, but a few days ago I stopped feeding my shrimp pellets because they were clouding the water. Water cleared up, but then this happened. I am fairly sure it's nitr(ite or ate) spike. Like I said I automatically did a 50% change and added stress coat. waited 24 hours and pulled the carbon and added the primafix and melafix
Everyone seems to have perked up tonight and a few of them are actually starting to look a LOT better, although one of them looks a little worse. They are all eating fine.
I am going to do another water change in the a.m. (at least 25%) and add some more melafix/primafix. Keeping my fingers crossed
