Fin Rot

My Oscar has fin rot and I have been treating him with Melafix and aquarium salt for a week tomorrow. How will I know that the rotting has stopped?
 
The cloudiness and spongy look goes away and so do the red streaks.

Thats a good start. Now start doing some water changes and keep your water clean until everything has cleared up.
 
how old is the tank... i had some of my new tanks with fish get finrot. keep the water moving bubbles or power head
 
My tank is about 3 months old. I have noticed a lot of bubble occasionally, is that my promblem? Not enough circulation?

I dont think the circulation is the problem but I'm sure it would help. I think its more of a water quality and/or stress related problem.

the excess bubbles are probably from a slimy water conditioner like stress coat.
