Hey folks I'm new to MFK and have been struggling to cure my silver arowana's fin rot. Its fins are frayed and torn and just wont heal. Its been months now. I have tried melafix but my canister is a ***** to reach and could not remove the carbon from my filter. On the directions its said if possible so I figured well maybe its not that big of a deal since they didnt strees it that much. Should I try another solution or try the melafix/ primafix with the carbon removed? Help would be apreciated.

take the carbon out. it says it for a reason. a sod to get to or not you need to take the carbon out or your meds will get absorbed by it.

Tetracyclin from Marcyn plus or 2 is the JOINT!!! You have to put him in medicine tank or if he is by himself than that's fine, but remember that tetracyclin turns everything in the tank yellow.

Furthermore, after the 5-7 day treatment you might have to retreat in the next couple of months cause it does come back. Just increase the water changes in the tank after everything is back to normal.

Look for the med with the Tetracyclin.

Good luck Bro,

Richard
