My pickerel has had a problem with an eroding fin. Initially other fish picked at it which I thought was the cause so I isolated that problem. Now it seems the webbed part of the fin in between the spines is still continuing to erode slightly exposing the "ribs" of the fin out the end. Is this "fin rot"? What should I use to treat this?

After some additional research I think I have answerd my own question. This fish has been exposed to most of the conditions that contribute to fin rot, most notably stress. I am addressing all of the issues with an aquarium population reduction, salt, water change, and some peace and quiet. We'll see where that gets him.
