Fin rot?

I recently received some festaes I bought online. In over all health they are doing great but they look to have fin rot or their fins been chewed up. All 4 of them are missing some of the end of the dorsal fin and small parts of their tail. I don't want to use meds unless its a last resort. What's the best why to cure this without using medications like melafix?

I agree with the above. Probably just frayed fins actually. They get torn up during handling and shipping sometimes.
