I put a question mark, but I'm fairly certain it's fin rot. Though I could be wrong.
Real quick: Amonnia 0, nitrite 0, no nitrate reading(currently no tester) temp is 82 ph 8.5
75gl tank, two gts 6ish" and 3ish", two glofish tetras, and two plecos.
Wc is 50-60% every 5 days or sooner. Never longer.
A couple weeks back my female green terror tore her pectoral fin while spawning. The first time she has ever had a torn fin. It healed up in a few days and everything seemed fine.
Saturday night I noticed the ends of her pectoral fins seemed to have the end rays/bones sticking out! And there was just a little hint of white on the ends of those rays.
I spent the evening trying to decide what to do. She was noticeably worse in the morning(Sunday). So I did a 60% wc and slowly add salt to the tank. Roughly 1tsp per gal. I have more waiting to be added to bring it to 2tsp per gal. I also added stress guard.
This was the best picture I could get yesterday.
And this is this morning
It's so hard because she won't stay still long enough for a clear picture. She won't even hold still long enough for me too really get a good look. And now she is staying in the back corner of the tank since she spawned again last night. So she is constantly fanning. I haven't been able to get a side shot yet.
To me it looks a little better then yesterday. For sure no worse then it was.
Two questions
1. I'm wondering.... should I add the remaining salt? Or wait to see if this is enough?
I'd prefer not to add more salt if I don't have to. I left my plants in hoping they can take the hit.
2. And how long should I wait to do my next water change? Again, because of the plants I'd like to treat for no longer then what is necessary.
Any advice is appreciated
