Im on one of the last steps till finishing my plywood tank, the glass instalation. The tank is 240 gallons, 8-2-2ft, and the actual panel of glass will be around 94"-22"-22", and 1/2 inch thick. My question is how many inches of the glass needs to be resting on the front framing of the tank on all sides so its stong enough. Right now i have a framing of 2 by 3's around the tank, which will give the glass around 2 inches to rest on, but was thinking 2 by 4's will be better. Let me know what you guys think.

Should be fine.......i'm giving mine a 3" lip just cuz i'm paranoid haha....here is a rough pic of my 180g......should have gone w/ the full 8' of plywood. but whatever. you got any pics so far of yours???

Thanks for alll the help. I guess im going with the 2 by 3's. I really want to upload some pics of the tank so far but my computer wont let me. Im going to try upload the pics on another one of my computer users so that will hopefully work.
