Now should I start them on CGD diet first or try pinheads? I have head it tried both ways first so just looking for some opinions.

The one fires up really red so i am extremely impressed with him/ her. And being my first hatchling... I think it might just have to stay :-)

congratz bro!!!
be careful with the red one, they've been known to change colors kinda hardcore.

With the diet, I would keep it as varied as possible and not one or the other. They do not need to be mutually exclusive and the variety will make for healthier more robust babies.

Thank you. They have eaten crickets 2 nights in a row. Tonight I am going to try the CGD and see how they do.

FINALLY!!!!

I give all mine pinheads/newborn roaches every other day. The days in between I give them CGD. Most won't eat until they've shed for the first time.

They will often be born very red/orange but that doesn't always mean that's what their final color will be. When they're roughly 5-6 months old you can see what their adult coloration is going to be.

Thank you VF.

The one shed less than 24 hour after being out.... Is that normal?

I was starting to really worry... I was candeling them every few days and the last few times I candled them they did not move at all. I thought they were gonner.

If he/ she remotely keeps anything close to the color he hatched at he will be a keeper :-)
my bad, i should have said dont get super excited cuz they can lose color. or gain it lol:naughty:
