Over the winter months my Crenicichla lenticulata 'Rio Atabapo' pair BOTH lost pretty much all their spots. I was rather bummed to say the least, but they were still uber attractive fish, so didn't change my love for them.

Well, just about three months ago they started getting some of the spots BACK. It was the coolest transformation to observe, and I only wish I could have captured more of it on camera. Now they are both FULLY spotted, with WAY more spots than they started with! Absolutely LOVING it!!! They are both close to almost 2.5 years old now, had them for well over two years.

So awesome Peanut_Power. Them some beautiful creni's!

Seasonal Spots ??? interesting, maybe an annual occurance during winter doldrums. Those rio Atabapo lents are very very cool - the reddish/brown spot coloration is different ! And spotted eyelids also !!!!!!!! let us know if their colors increase and brighten-up . . . Glad they are doing so well, do you feed them peanut-infused pellets??

Nice Jer, what else you have hiding out over in Central MO.
