So, yesterday I went off to a Pet Store that we found about 30min. away, and when we arrived, it looked a bit.... 'scary', lol and so did the people who worked there. (Looked like a bunch of bikers to me, lol) so we left, and our journey was for nothing, but I did stop at a Petsmart in the area (Needed Mealworms) and saw these two in one of the tank. Now, one of them had a badly bitten tail (Missing the top half of his tail) So I thought I would take them back home in better care. They are two juvenile Parrot Cichlids, and fun to watch.
I as also able to stop and get some Play Sand for the aquarium. Added the sand after being cleaned, and the entire tank went brown. Could only see about an inch into the tank. So we drained it and filled it back up with good results. Its not completely clear, but much better than it was. After we drained it and went to fill it back up, I put the rocks on the bottom of the tank all over so that when water would be poured into the tank it wouldn't stur up the sand. lol, using one Gallon buckets the process of slowly filling a 60-Gallon tank began. After in was all filled, I decided to leave the rocks where they were. Looked kind of cool. Plus all of the fish in the tank had begun to make tunnels under the rocks and many other hiding spots in the sand around the tank.
Pics of the tank along with the two new Parrot Cichlids. (And others)
