finally decided on a pike

well guys i've finally decided on a pike. I'm getting the Xingu 3. i did alot of research on this fish and i think i'm ready to take the plunge. they are somewhere between 5.5 and 6 inches and i'm only getting 2. i wanted more than that but they just are not available. the guy i'm gettin them from thinks they are a male and female but i'll just have to wait and see. they are going into a 100 gallon planted tank for now by themselves. after i get them and get them settled in i'll post some picks.

i won't have them till sometime after the holiday unless they get shipped out tomorrow but i doubt it. i'm really excited about these guys. i'll probably try to keep them in this tank for at least a year then upgrade them to a bigger tank. man i hope i end up with a pair. i was told that they've been together for a while and they get along very well but i guess i'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.
 
Best of luck wit that bro...at 5.5 to 6" they are still very much juv. pikes....just barely starting to hit subadult. Once they hit subadult their aggression towards each other is gonna escalate...'specially since there are only two of them. I hope for ur sake that they are indeed a male and a female, and that they decide to pair up. Otherwise you may end up wit a dead pike. You mind PMin me with where you got them? Wanna see if maybe he can get me some other pikes I've been lookin for. Very kewl bro! Make sure there are plenty of hiding places.....will be important indeed! Congrats again!! Xingu III are beautiful!!! 'specially the females!
 
yeah i'm not going to be surprised if the xingu 3 are the same sex and like i said i could only get 2 as opposed to 4 or more but with this pike i don't think i'll be all that upset if i only end up with 1. time will tell.
