This is done in the 55 gallon. I did this whole design with stuff i already had (filters, heater, pump, and driftwood) and stuff i got free (plants sand rocks). The plants will grow much more and fill in the space above where they are planted which should hide the one filter, heater and pump that are still too obvious for my liking...i hope lol (the second filter is hidden behind driftwood) as well as fill out the tank a lil more. Stock for now is pictus cat, spotted raphael cat, pleco, eclipse cat, and my pike killifish (belonesox belizanus) which im still looking for a few more of.
Sorry for the poor pic quality, i had to do it with my phone because my camera died on me, also the water is still cloudy from movin stuff around.

Overall im pretty proud of this for a free project done in a day. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks pretty nice. I like your stock list for the most part, especially going with smaller predators like pike killies.

But just one warning, eclipse catfish can grow large in aquariums, over a foot is not unheard of...

Really like the setup and decorations though.

Well ****. I must have missed the pages that said eclipse get that big, that sucks. I looked them up and the couple pages i read said 5" or so, thats why i got him lol. Oh well i have him now, we'll see what happens lol.
As for the pike killies, i love them, just wish i could find some more around here. People in this area look at you like a nutcase when ya ask about them lol.

Simple but nice. depending on whaqt you are going to put in there you may want to create more shelter areas.

Actually its already stocked for now with the pictus cat, spotted raph (apparently already found a hide cuz i cant find him now lol), pleco, eclipse, and pike killi. The only additions i have planned for now will be more pike killis.
The plants will provide some more cover as they grow, but i may do a lil more work with rock if i the need for more hides comes up, but the only one that has ever hidden much since i got them is the spotted raph. They all had plenty of hides in their previous tank and suprisingly never used em.

Yep, I have a striped raph cat and he hides 97% of the time, only comes out for some occasional food. Spotted raphs shouldn't be different. Never seen the so called 18" max sized sun cat, but yeah there are some that grow a foot max.

It's really funny how some people respond to monster fish keepers that ask for strange fish. Guess they just don't understand us...;)

Fish should be pretty happy with all the space, what are you feeding them?

Yep. And thanks.
Im feedin them blood worms and brine shrimp. The pike killi is eating whatever BW and BS happen to hit a current in the tank and "run from her" along with baby to juvie guppies.

Hmm...glad your pike killi is eating well. Most be a pleasure to watch. Perhaps you can train it to eat pellets, I really like New Life Spectrum pellets, really good for your fish. Use them for my fish and unbelievable colors. Just a suggestion.

I've tried gettin her on pellets she wont have anything to do with it. Even if they hit a current she'll bit it then she spits it back out.
