Finally done with my qualifiers!!!!

So I just had fun studying for 2 months, and then taking 4 tests. (1 miss is only allowed, so hopefully I passed the first time).

(Note each test took 5 hours to do... It is just so that I can begin the actual process of getting my Ph.D. in Physics.)

Needless to say life is much better.

Yah, same thing, have to show that you have a masters level of understanding of Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Quantum Mech., Statistical Mech, and Thermodynamics.

In other words after taking a year of courses you have to pass the 4, 5 hour tests in order to be eligible to earn you Ph.D. I think there offical term is Ph. D. Comprehensive Exams, but everyone just calls them the quals...
