hopefully i will be collecting then sat, 5x all 7"-8" so the plan is to grow them out to 13"+ before introducing them to the com..... But its taken me ages to find a good number of spotted with out a trek to the scottish border so im happy....

Im also grabbing another 2x 7" Channa Pulchra, 1x 5" Channa Ornate!!! and my i have been talked into taking another WAL, this one is 12" but has amazing pattern! its ok i love my lungs, have the room for it and it secured me the gars! Fingers crossed all goes well and i will have some new tank setups at end of the week....

AWESOME!!! you gotta love gar comms! good luck getting them and i will be expecting pics!?!

;) u got it! Jordan what way would u do, i got two vacant tanks: 36x18x12 or 48x24x18. Should i put them in the 3'er for a while and then move them or is it quite safe to put 8" gar in a tank they can really get some speed up in??? i have never had gar below 12" before. but i am thinking its safer to stay small while they are small?

i would keep them in the 18" wide tank until they are 13-14 inches...then place them in the larger tank. that's how i grew out my trop and ive had no problems.

ok, i was just worried bout them having the 48" length of the tank to gather speed, but i may just plant it heavily to break up the water space...

planting the tank is definitely a good idea.

i started my trop out in a 29 gallon, after it reached about 8-10 inches i put it in a 75 gallon, then at 13 inches i placed it in the 180. Florida/spotteds are pretty stable fish, so i wouldnt be too concerned with them in that tank, as long as a few precautions are taken.

ya cool, cant wait to see

Agreed with Jordan, and looking forward to some pics. Congrats on the find.

thanks! and fingers crossed! expect that email to finally turn up in ur inbox sometime this week for those gar papers if that is still ok.... i know ive gotten side track for last few months.....
