Finally found a Red Terror...I hope.

I picked up a couple of fish at a lfs yesterday. I saw this fish and it was listed as a red terror. It is about 9-10 inches long. I researched as much as I could because I didn't want to pay $40 for a Uro. Well, I bought it. It is a beautiful fish and based on my research, it appears to be a true red terror. Did I make an error? Is it male or female?

Also, I found an "odd" looking convict. Is it a tex/con mix? I took a picture of it next to a con. Thanks in advance for your help.

It's hard to tell from the pic but does it have a black blotch on the dorsal fin? If yes, then it's a female. At that size you should be able see the black blotch clearly and easily.

The other fish........some people call it a texacon.

Yeah u got a real rt there i would guess female and 40$ was a steal at that size.I have seen a better looking tex con mix befor it's o.k. but i have seen them with way more pearls.

1st 5 pics--female Festae. Very nice and quite a steal. Good job!

Her whole front 2/3's of the dorsal is black/bluish. Other than that, her coloration looks like a male so I can see where yall are coming from.
