Finally found some Erpetoichthys

I'd given up on finding these guys months ago. So of course im looking at a tank full of cichlids and come nose to nose with one. At $12 I snapped him up quick, a bigger fella too already a foot long. That was last week, went back today and they got another one in with their misc shipment. The provider only sends one at a time for whatever reason. This guys a bit smaller.

I upgraded my community to a 75 last month so they fit right in amongst the mangrove roots. I even have a booming population of ghost shrimp and guppies for snacks lol.

Surprised. See them all the time. Lfs wouldn't order any? Anyway...always a nice addition.

They would have but it would of cost me a bit more. These guys were random arrivals but they seem to be regular now. My shop owner always has the best oddballs you can find, these guys dont even come close.

If I can, ill grab one more. They know to save him for me. I was also contemplating an eel or some dojos but im not sure how they get along. The new guy already ate today btw!

Love these silly smiley fish! I have 3.

If I were you, I'd work on a cover for your tank. These guys are notorious escape artists. I have a glass lid on my tank, and it's duct taped around all the back edges around my canister intake/output and heated cord. :)

Congrats on finding them!

They are characters for sure! The pic of the tank is from before I added these guys, rest assured its been sealed up since. I plan on getting african butterflies so it was gonna have to happen.
