I'm upgrading to a 75gal tank, and I'm at a loss as who will live in there. I'm looking for 1 or a few large cichlids...any suggestions, I really want to be a little different than just getting an oscar or something..
Thanks for your ideas

go what you like and wanted...everyone has personal prefer on fish.

This question comes up a lot, and every time I say a solo Red Devil. They may be common, but they are the biggest glass bangers there are that would work in a 75.

red devil... that might be a good choice...a 75 would be a little small for something like a peacock bass, right?

It would be too small for a pbass. A flowerhorn would be a great choice too.

What, is that the kids name? :D

There are a lot of nice solo cichlids you could get. Red Devil, Midas, female Red terror, smaller Parachromis species (Dovii and male jags get a bit big) Green terror (adult males are verrry nice) etc etc etc

If you want something less common, there are various amphilophus species that are cool.

If you don't want cichlids, bichirs are a really cool choice. Thats what I'm putting in my new 75, along with some ctenopomas.

As you are in texas, you could get relatively cheap shipping from Rehobothaquatics, who is a vendor on this site. He sells lots of bichirs and other unique african fish. (also in texas, hence the cheap shipping)
