Got tired of messing around with my LFS ordering me one and ordered one from LiveAquaria and it arrived today. Was supposed to be at least 2", but it's less than 1". Still excited, though. It will be in a 40B until it gets bigger and then into my 120 or maybe a 180 in the future. Hasn't eaten yet, but I've only tried ghost shrimp so far. Going to hatch some brine shrimp eggs tomorrow.

I will try those tomorrow, too. Thanks!

Congrats! As soon as we buy our new home and I have the room for a 6 foot tank I will be getting one of those beauties!

haven't started the brine shrimp culture yet. Didn't eat any frozen bloodworms last night, but ate some during the day today. Hopefully it will start to eat them freshly unfrozen. The ghost shrimp in the tank are eating it, too. Going to try and find someone that has live brine this weekend so I don't have to wait for the culture.

I want one of those so bad but I can't go any bigger than a 75 gallon.

hopefully one day!

It doesn't eat the nerite snails. Hopefully it will eat other snails; still need to get some. It loves bloodworms. Should be crayfish season soon and our office pond gets tons of tiny ones; can't wait to throw some in the tank.

Personally i probably wouldn't bother with the brine shrimp culture... at 1" they grow pretty darn quick and will quite possibly outgrow wanting to eat brine shrimp, not to mention, there are "easier" solutions...

I for one feed my fahaka the following (although i know there are other foods that also work):

As a smaller puffer 5" and under: Blood worms / smaller pieces of defrosted scallops from market / Cherry red shrimp i was breeding at the time / pellets / defrosted shrimp from market / Small snails

After about 6" or so i used the above along with: Mussels (on half shell) / Live Marble Crayfish i was breeding / Clams in Full Shell (although at the beginning had to help crack it open to make life easier till she could tackle them alone)

The fact they are so aggressive i guess also helps in the aspect a little since they are willing to almost bite anything at least once...
