After a lot of thinking i finally ordered a jar he came in yesterday, its a wild caught at roughly 9". Its currently in a 5x2x2 comm tank (risky i know). Its eating blood worms like there going out of fashion. my question is I'm thinking of feeding it some pellet stuffed white bait its the closest thing to smelt i can get its a salt water fish though will this cause any issues?

Congrats on the buy, welcome to the Aro club! As for smelt i think you should be fine. I see people feeding their aros tilapia which is also a saltwater fish. I feed my aro hikari arowana sticks, freeze dried shrimp, market shrimp, crickets, and meal worms.

I think tilapia is freshwater fish, unless I've been mistaken it all my life.....

Good call LOL. Should have googled it i guess. I just thought they were saltwater since i fished for them at Salton Sea. Could have sworn the name Sea = SW LOL :(
