So i finally got my 180 gal. And i have a question and i KNOW u all have heard a lot of times but im trying to be very responsible and dop whats best my my buddies. So I have my AC 110 on my 55 with them in it. Firsat thing im gonna do is fill it up and get the ac 110 thats aqlready been on the 55 for a while. Then im gonna put the penguin bio wheel on it too, the one thats been on the 55 for a long time. THEN im gonna put the gravel form the 55 in the 180 then all the wood and all the plants. This will all happen in like a couple days. My last step is to put a brand new AC 110 that has been on the 55 for like two day on.....

Heres the question after all the components are on the 180 how long of filtering would it take for it to be cycled?

As I understand it; you have a 55 gallon with a AC110 and a penguin 350 correct? These two fitlers are matched to the bioload of the tank(your current fish stock). Your should be able to move the filters and the fish to the 180 at the same time with no problems. Just don't add any other new fish for a while.

If you move the cycled filters to the new tank, and don't move the fish then you will have no bioload to substane the filters

i say you just be safe. ur fish are alread in the tank there in. i say take ur 180 n build a sump. let it run for 2 weeks (which goes by really fast) n let the bio seed. after you add ur fish, add those HOB filtes as xtra circulation. or add only 1 of the hob filters + a new hob filter n let them seed eachother n become stable. try to do it the safest way n dont rush it, i wouldn't wanna risk my purpose of even upgrading in the firstplace.
