and wanted to share some pics. I chose paratheraps bifas because they are so beautiful and I had access to what I thought may be a pair. They are young and I realize I can't know for sure without venting but they first behaved as if they wanted to spawn. I brought them home to my new 90g set up and am hoping I can keep them happy!
Any advice or comments welcome. I'm still learning about keeping big fish. Presently, the one I call "the male" is darker in color, thicker and about 6 inches, while his "lady friend" has lighter coloring and is about 41/2 - 5 inches. I realize they could both be males and only time will tell--unless someone sees something I don't.

Congratulations on your new tank, it looks great. I can't help with sexing them but they are two beautiful Bifas.

Great looking fish, I'm not familiar with them but will be researching their profile now. The purples are very close to the purples in my Choco. cichlid.

I dig your setup a lot too, and the fish are gorgeous....best of luck with them and I hope you end up with a breeding pair.

Thanks for your comments. I'll keep you updated with a new pic when I add one more piece of wood--maybe over on the right if I can find something big enough. I also completed my first DIY project with this set up by making my own trickle filter. It's working so far!

I think your tank looks awesome!! Great looking fish. Good luck.
