I´ve been looking into getting an AUL since the end of 2008 while still planning my homecoming from Germany. Now I´m back in Oz and have finally been able to get one for my six foot setup. I have the luck I was able to drive to the breeder to pick him up. :D

When I got him last sunday he was exactly 20cm. Yesterday (friday) I thought he looked a bit bigger but thought I was pulling my own leg so I measured him just in case. You can imagine my shock to find he had grown 2 cm in 5 days! So now I already have a 22cm lungfish! He´s from a november 2007 spawning so I guess he´s doing some speed growing to catch up for lost time. And no I didn´t make a mistake measuring as I held up the measuring stick 1cm away from him each time.

Now some pics for those needing their fix...

Lungfish looks awesome.I have 4 of them.I waited 40 years to get mine.It was a dream fish that I finally found.
Thx. How big are they now and did you also experience such growth rates when they were small?
Nice tank set up! I love your aqua-scaping! Most guys keep their Lung Fish in laboratory tanks, your looks natural. It must be a joy to sit in front of and relax!
Thx. Yeah it took hours to get it looking good from all three sides cause the tank´s in a combined loungeroom/diningroom area. The whole time I was doing it I was imagining the lung in there to keep me motivated.

The first year they grew fast.I had 5 to start with.2 months ago,one of them jump out of the tank when we were not at home. They were around 5"-6" to start with .The one's that are in the 180 are around 24"-26" This coming summer I will make a pond for them.Your tank looks awesome.

Bummer one jumped out. how long have you had them? I´m also thinking of building an indoor pond with viewing panel for mine when he gets bigger.

Thx. I´m lucky cause in oz there´s no government paperwork. The breeder just has to chip the fish and record the tag number on paper. I rang on Friday and picked up the fish on sunday. Don´t worry though there are plenty of species I can´t get over here so it´s not all roses :irked:.
I´ll update occasionally cause I love looking at other people´s updates as well.
