i finally got a silver aro(ill post pics once i get my camera charged), tho its not a black like i wanted its still a great looking silver. its about 4 inches and is in my 10g with a bunch of baby guppies and two adult guppies, plus two cories and an apollo cat. once hes big enough he'll go in the 100g with my 6inch o and others. i planned on him eating guppy fry but he wont touch them. what should i feed him at this size? any advice is appreciated.

Congrats on the P/U. It may take awhile for him to eat if you just got him. At that size he will most likley eat the guppies at night when your not looking.
Try some frozen bloodworms, crickets, or mealworms.

so... when are you going to get the 300G tank he'll need as an adult?

well i turned off the lights in my room and left and when i came back the babies were gone. i also found out that he like krill. as for a 300g tank, ive no clue when ill be gettin something that big but ill be replacin my 100 with a 180 this summer.

The 180 should tie you over for a while. Congrats on your new family member

Congrats! I love to hear it when someone gets a new Aro. I'd suggest small crickets, and be careful not to feed him "fatty" feeders. Some feel that feeders make them more aggressive towards other fish. I prefer insects on top along with floating pellets because it keeps him looking up, possibly preventing dropeye from him looking down for food.
Enjoy and good luck, I hope you guys have a wonderful life together!!!!

Congrats on your new silver. The blacks are hard to find unless you have it shipped. My little Silver loves crickets but now he is taking to krill, shrimp and scallops.

I just picked up my second silver for my 375 g. They are amazing aren't they! Good luck with yours!:cool-1:

thanks everyone, woulda got a black but too pricy, and my silvers eatin like a pig now. i hope to add him to my 100 within a month, im thinkin 6 inches will be big enough.

Sounds good congrats on your new fish, however I wouldn't feed him crikets thay are very adddictive and hard to get them off, not a problem now but wait until he gets big and your house sounds like the wild outdoors at night. Crikets are good food but keep it them a minimum. Raw prawns shelled, cleaned and cubed into small pieces is good, cubed up fish flesh like salmon, trout, and catfish is good aswell, variety is best. Feeder fish for fun once in awhile is good too, but dont' feed feeders if you plan to comm with other aro's.
Enjoy your new fish!:)
