if anybody remembers I made a thread about facetum and oblongus like 6-8 months back after I found some pictures of them online.

Well completely out of the blue I found some australoheros n. sp. "red ceibal" centurion on a LFS's stocklist so I went down to check them out. They were all around a inch and they wanted $15 a piece. These came from Uruguay with a bunch of gymnogeo's that I am pretty confident came from Spencer Jack so I knew they came from soft water and my ph is 8-8.2. I debated getting them in the store for a good 90 minutes and was trying to talk the lady running the store down the whole time. After borrowing $2 from Orbit I bought them for $50 no tax. I saved myself about $14 on them which I still think was very expensive. I also had to tell them I'd bring them free fry if I could breed them. Anyways.. here is the picture they had of them at the store courtesy of http://cichlaholic.com/uruguay_list.html#redceibal

I still feel stupid for spending $50 on 4 1" fish that probably won't do very good in my water but I have something I will probably never find again. It would be cool to help distribute something new to the hobby so as long I can breed them I won't be mad at myself for spending $50.

I dont' think i've ever heard much less seen those fish. Thanks for sharing! They look very colorful. Good luck with them in your water.

I was real worried about it at first but they are doing really well in my water (already killed some baby oscars that have been in my water for a day.) I also read that somebody has successfully bred them in a pH of 8.2.
