In the air and I ain't comin down!
Finally got the sump under the 210g. I had to tear the stand apart with the tank on top just to get the 80g sump in. I have about 4'' of arm room to do maintinace on the sump. I made the sump with three different baffle's and a drip tray over the bio ball's. I have left a lot of room on the bottom for plenty of bio ceramic rings. I plan to put bio matt's and polly floss in the first baffle and then later incorporate live plant's in the remaing half of the 80g after the third baffle.

Nice sump I can't wait to add my new sump its going to be a pain in the butt cuz I don't know how i'm going to get it to fit threw the front of my stand....

Looks great man !!!Now that's a tight fit!!!

congrats...you were working on that for a while....glad to see it finished. looks good!

Thanks guy's. Yea Paul I got that sump from you as a 80 gallon holder tank and it turned out to be a pretty nice sump.

To give you guys an idea I had to reseal the tank and the sump had to be done 3x's basicly the sump has been completely resealed. Also my wife had to be apart of this project so she sanded and restained the stand. The deal was if it had to go into the kitchen she wanted to make sure it was something she could look at. Of course I am REAL slow when it comes to doing hobby related task. ie why my tanks usually sit around until I finally get around to it. I will try to update the progress of this as I am more movtivated to get this done and out the way.

P.S. Make sure the tank your usinng fit's under the stand before 3 months of hard work! :headshake:duh: Let's just say I freaked out when it wouldnt fit. I even tryed to stuff it under the 240g stand. No go I knew it was going to be a tight fit and really overkill for the 210g but after 15 minutes I calmed down a used my noodle. NIce squeeze. Why filter pads instead of filter socks?
2 reasons 1. no room for it. 2. I peffer pads because you reach in grab it out throw it away put a new pad in. So much simpler imo..... I am a drip tray guy! more surface area for bio to accumulate on the bio ball's. I know I can do socks over top of a drip tray but reason #1 kept me from even trying. Besides I still don't think you can get the total surface area I am trying to achieve. I knew it was going to be a tight fit just with the sump. A little tighter then I thought but I like it.

Nice sump I can't wait to add my new sump its going to be a pain in the butt cuz I don't know how i'm going to get it to fit threw the front of my stand....

Good luck I tried the front then the top then the back finally I just to out the rear support slate's and had my son who is 6'1 235 at 16yrs (still not very strong but he try's) he held up the back side while I replaced the slate's. Easy quick fix hopefully you can get lucky like me and it just work's out for you.
