My convicts finally bred, and I have wigglers now. There's only about 15-20. The cons are still small tho and this is the first batch, so i figured that was ok?
Is there anyhting I should do in particular? Should I put a stocking over the filter intake? Or will the female keep them away from it? Right now she keeps putting them in her mouth and spitting them back into a pile.
Is it still ok to do a wc? I will keep the vac away from the fry..
I think the last time she laid eggs, after i did a wc the eggs were gone, and I didnt suck any of them up..They were gone the next day.
I dnt want to lose this batch.

Any suggestions?

For the filter, I used one of the sponge filter things for a power filter, and I just cut a hole in it and put it over my filter intake that hangs down into the aquarium. I don't think I've lost any fry to that. Hope that helps!

If she was a first time mom last time she might have fraked out and not known what to do but eat the babies. They take practice:) The mom wont let thm go away from her, how big are the parents? 15-20 sounds about right there might be more than u think but they are hidden in the gravel.

how big your tank i had mine breed in a 44 with filter pick up pretty high up in the tank. also had other fish in the tank so the parent kept them at the bottom so no need for a sponge. now i cant get them not to breed. my last batch got close to ahundred so if anybody wants some. heres mom dad and few babies
