First. this takes a lot of patience. After weeks of being away and starving my monos (bought from a LFS) one finally gave in and started chomping down on massivore pellets. For thise wanting to pellet train, if you choose to starve your fish. dont ever give in and give them feeders. the mono is about 6-7" (eyeballin the size). now its time to get the other mono to eat pellets haha.

I feel your pain Mike my Kelberi just won’t give in and take pellets. He’s starting to fall behind. I hate starving my fish because they get all royal rumble when I do. Im glad your Having better luck then I am.

I have 3 right now I'm growing .. I originally had them in with tiger scats and they watched the scats gobble up everything and learned from them .. odd thing though is out of the 2 kelberi one of them prefers carni sticks from the surface and the other will take anything that stinks and hits the bottom. The bottom feeding one grew much faster. They all like bug bites though

Well after running out of my Kelberis favorite food (blood worms) I decided to starve him... on the third day he started to eat some tilapia. Yesterday he was trying to eat all the tilapia. He’s starting to go for some pellets too. It’s a huge relief to me as he’s been falling behind my other fish as far as growth goes.

Well tilapia and pellets will get him growing a lot faster than bloodworms,so he's on the right track now
