so i bought a shop light fixture for my tank and hated how i would always have to move it in order to open my lids to get in the tank or slide it back outta the way and such... so i grabbed some conduit pipe from work brought it home bent em on a 90deg bend, slapped some threaded loops on the ends, and hung the light on it few inchs above the tank i can now get in and out of the tank when and if needed without touching the light and it spreads out in the tank more... all in think since the conduit was free i spent maybe 5 bucks on the hardware needed (bolts, conduit brackets, threaded loops etc) i think it looks alright gf said it makes my tank look like it has ears ?
only thing i have plans to change eventually is the chain to hang the light, im going to swap it for soem VERY thin air craft cable or winch cable whatever ya wanna call it and get each end loop'd and crimped and use it rather then the chain that came with the light when i bought it.... anyway here some pics what ya guys think ?

lol i like the looks of it i dont mind it and i think when i change the chain to the thin wire i want to do it will give it a cleaner/sleeker look IMO... and so far iv done water change and had to go in the tank for a few things here and there and it 100x easier for feeding and getting in and out of the tank now that i dont have to move the light around everywhere, as i have sliding glass lids on my tank so i would always have to move the light around... plus this build was basically free like 5bucks for few bolts and such i didnt have here, a wooden canopy which i debated about doing would have been 50-60bucks or so, maybe i'll do a wooden canopy when i get a bigger tank maybe we will see, but for now i like this and it seems to work well for getting in and outta the tank when needed
