Remove that messy decor and you'll see them everyday. IMO, large bichirs don't need any place to hide.

Looks good. I have one just like that. Mine also likes to hide but when I come around it gets very active. I always drop a bit of food in when I come up to the tank. Now all my fish come out when I walk up whether I feed them or not, even my bichirs. My ornate is the most active of all my bichirs

Good size! Just a little longer then mine lol. What do feed it? Mine is eating pellets, raw shrimp and lots of different types of frozen fillets and now he's getting fat.

I know! I think it's probably the new setup he's in now! And lol I have no idea what he eats. I've put pellets, worms, and prawns in the tank. Also there's been miscellaneous crawfish and convict cichlids, I've only seen him bite on a left over crayfish once. Other than that he eats in secret lol.
