well i have finally got a tank to hold my two ID's and My Clown Knife in. although it will take me a couple weeks to get it setup, but it will be more room until i can get a bigger one or build a bigger tank. but anyways its a 125 Gallon its dimensions are 6'x18"x24"! I've already planned to put some pool filter sand and im still wondering if im going with a sump or a nice canister filter. i'm thinking a sump would probably be best!

I also have a few questions!
-would sump or canister be better?
-how many pounds of sand will i need?
-how many times should the pumps be able to turn the water over per hour since i will have a decent bio-load comin from my 2 Iridescent Sharks?
-Should i brace my stand more cause i dont feel the safiest but the guy i got it from said the tank was up and running with pacu and RTC for 4 years but i still dont feel safe knowing theres that much weight on this stand?

and heres some pics of the tank not cleaned up and with extra goodies he piled into it!

Stand looks far more heavy duty than those flimsy LFS ones, I wouldn't worry. Sump is always better than canisters...but I dunno if it's that much better to justify spending the money. I'd just get an FX5.

im thinkin of adding a little more vertical support just to be sure! im thinking of going with a sump, but i have been wondering how many gallons should i get for a sump?

you might be better off just gong with a fx5,your tank is not drilled hate to see you crack it drilling it. fx5 does 400 gallon a hour, you should have double the flow, more than enough gph and it,s a real good unit...
its the glass on the bottom of your tank temp glass or just glass....temp your (sol)
your call good luck to you
it will be a nice tank once you get it going
post more pics then

@ remo

he dosen't need to drill his tank for a sump he just needs to make a DIY overflow which is easy and WORKS (i should know i have one).

The FX5 is rated for 400 gallons but i seriously doubt it could ever filter one of those, i would never use just a single FX5 on something larger than a 125 (which i think this one is) anyway.

The fx5 flows about 600 GPH after media restiction thats about a 4.5 turnover on this tank which is a little small for me (HOB = 10x turnover, canisters 6-8x turnover, sumps 3-4x turnover)

i built a sump and never looked back it costed a bit less than a FX5 with media (including the media for the sump) and it has much better biological filtration.

IMO get atleast a 30 gallon sump but i wouldn't go smaller than a 40 gallon
