I have had 4 Jags for about 6 months now and got lucky and seem to have formed 2 pairs
As we speak two of my Jags are laying eggs:naughty: unfortunately the larger one which I assume is male seems to be eating them.
I just looked over and noticed him rubbing against them so hopefully he is fertilizing them.
Maybe someone can chime in and help figure out what's going on, or I guess time will tell.

The weird thing is they both look female to me!
Here are some pics so hopefully you can help me out!

Here is the female that is laying eggs, you can clearly see her egg tube:

And here is the "male":

Here they are together:

Now that I look, the eggs seem fertilized not white like unfertilized eggs. Maybe he is just eating the bad ones?

Congrats :D I always thought I would buy a Jag but i never got around to doing it.When I get a bigger tank i am gonna buy a few. :)

It takes first timers a few times to get it right sometimes. If they eat them just let them keep going and they will get it right. The eggs dont's turn white for a little while.

The Jag that is supposed to be the male has started rubbing along the eggs hopefully fertilizing them.
I have some pictures of "his" tube dropped but it looks more like a female egg tube to me? I'm hoping someone can tell me I'm wrong!

Thanks again guys!

Alright most of the eggs are white, so I'm thinking I have two females :( Anybody want to trade a male for a female? I will throw in some free convict fry :)

As you said above, looks like you have two girls in there. Males are very pointy on the vent in comparison.
