So my festae pair finally produced eggs. Heres a lil video of mommy protecting her eggs. you can see dad towards the end of the video. Pics to follow.

festae can be very hard to spawn, I'm glad to see the finally did for you. I also notice other fish in the tank. Was prolly a good move, but IME I've had to either divide them or remove them once the fry hatch so they don't eat any of my fry or so the pair doesn't kill any. But I've also pulled my dithers once before the eggs hatched too and the eggs never hatched, the male freaked out on the female and almost killed her. So since then I wait just until they hatch then I separate the dithers.
They look to be doing a great job so far and the colors are definitely popping!!!! Great job bro and keep up the good work.

Correct me if i'm wrong but that's a a Midas and a green terror in there with the festae pair. What else in in that tank. I thought it was near impossible to keep tank mates with a breeding pair of festae never mind them not killing each other. NICE fish btw!

Crazy as it may seem I have an assortment of cichlids in the tank. Its a 125 with the 8in Festae pair, 6-7in Orange and white flowerhorn, NOT A MIDAS, 6-7in Synpilum, 6in, 4in, and 3in unfaded red texas 5in GT, 5in jag. That all get along pretty well. Other than the festae running the tank everyone else chases each other. The festae, FH, syn, and the largest RT play amongst themselves, while the lil guys, GT, Jag, and the other 2 RT's play amongst themselves. Its pretty weird but it works. Everyone knows there place. I do have a time out tank for them and they all have had their turn. they return nicer and gentler lol..
