Man these pike are funny! I had one that just wouldn't take pellets for anything, ate shrimp, worms and quarantined feeders but kept turning his nose up at pellets. I put a couple of chocolate cichlids and a P. loisellei in with the pair and the competition finally got to him. Funny thing though, he likes them from the bottom of the tank, more than when they are falling. Glad I can drop the feeders now. Things are going great in the tank, both pike cruising together and making total jerks of themselves, though I feel kind of bad for the loisellei, he's now the b*itch of the tank.

Thats awesome!! Normally pikes seem to like the sinking pellets better than the floating. Not entirely sure why this is, but its whats been proven! Massivore and Carnivour are both great pellets that they have a hard time resisting...;)

That's cool I could never get mine on pellets. He would take bloodworm though.

Yeah it's great but it's definitely a mixed blessing now! Seems they both decided that since sinking carnivore pellets are good, floating cichlid pellets are too. Problem with that is, pike EXPLODE on food they like that floats! Now when I feed, I have to drape a towel over the open top to keep them from both slashing a couple of gallons of water out of the tank and in one case to keep the smaller pike IN THE TANK! The smaller came up for pellets so hard it looked like an arowana hunting insects on a branch. I've got to figure a work-around for this now. What's funny and kind of cool at 12 inches is going to be way more serious at 20+ inches.

You can get sinking cichlid gold, you know.

I love this stuff! Feed it and the Hikari Carnivour pellets. My snooks LOVE the cichlid gold....tear it up!! I've got about two pounds too! LoL!! About to run out too! OY!

BTW...that would make a great video if you can do it, showing the raw power of pikes! BOO YA!
