This may not seem like a big deal, but it is for me.
I picked up this tank and stand someone had thrown away. It was on the edge of the road with a bunch of trash.
Thanks for all the advice I got here. I cut the original silicon off and scraped the glass clean with a razor blade.
I cleaned with acetone and then wiped it down with alcohol.
So far it is holding water and looks good.

Great find and great job resealing the 65 gallon.

I have over 100 tilapia fry in a 20H and they will think they are in the ocean when I move them in here to grow out.

You can't really see it, but I have the tank sitting on a sheet of foam. I went around the edges of the foam with black packing tape so it doesn't stand out like white would.
To get black packing tape, I had to order from amazon. I now I put all my tanks on foam. Whoever thought to do that first was a genius!

Tank looks great! I have resealed with this simple method before and had good luck as well. Can't beat a free tank + stand.
By the way for future reference, they do make black foam. So you don't have to bother with the tape, looks a little cleaner.
