I had the tank set up with water and filter. I put plastic plants in it today. The plants on the right I got from Dollartree. It is 4 bunches that are zip tied in the middle. It should give the fry a place to hide, plus the plastic breaded grass on the left. I have two Mozambique Tilapia in there with mouths full of babies.... I think. I can't see in their mouth. They are too skidish. But the bottom of their mouth is pushed out and they are not eating. Anyone know how long they hold them in their mouths?

Pic has the fish too far away for me to tell if holding or not.
BelowThis is the type jaw extension holding usually looks like (not Mozambique, but a Tilapine none the less (Alcolapia alcalicus)).

When I had mozambiques, by looking close , the movement of the lower jaw, usually allowed one to see eggs or fry rolling around, and sometimes able to see thru the jaw, skin, membrane.

Ok, their mouth is pushed out at the bottom and it just looks like they are holding fish in their mouth.
Thanks for posting the pics!

Wow! I almost put the Tilapia in my baby tank too late! I have babies and moved momma back into the community tank. Sorry for such poor quality photos.

Keep that aquarium ready positive they will spawn again lol.
I am going to have to set up my two other aquariums eventually, but I first need to convince the wife that I really do not want to set them up, but I have no choice... it is for the babies. LOL
