Well after a long absence from MFK due to internet being down for almost a month, i've finally come back and with some actual monsters. I'm now owner of 2 channel catfish and 3 bullheads, all of which are around 2-3" right now.
The channel cats are getting tank raised until next summer where they then will go into a pond made of a 6' diameter stock tank and some 5gallon bucket filters. After a longer growout period in the pond, they will finally arrive in my friends stocked fishing pond.
Normally i wouldn't risk transfering any disease to a fishing pond even if it is manmade and completely stocked from outside sources anyway, but after the recent flooding in Nebraska it seems a lot of the fish became stranded and the ones that weren't stranded from rising water seem to have died off from what in my opinion is probably washed in fertilizer and extreme amounts of decomposing corn stalks.
Back on topic though, I'll see if i can get any pictures of the little guys in the temp. 29 gallon where they are just staying while the hook hole in one of the bullheads heals and they all start eating pellets.
