I've been without an aquarium for far too long so its about time one went up. Due to the fact I don't know how long I'll be living where I am I couldn't go crazy. I'm just setting up a small 10 gallon planted. I'm going to post pictures as I go and I would definatly like tips and suggestions.

First I scouted the beach nearby until I found some rock and driftwood I though would work well. I boiled the pieces and then soaked them for a few weeks, first in salt water, then fresh.

Next I painted the back of the tank black. I read on here it was best to use latex spray paint. After some looking I couldn't find one actually labeled as such so I went with a flat black that listed glass as a surface type.

Finally last night I was able to put it together and add water. You never really know how the spacing is going to work out until is all together. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. The substrate is flourite-dark at varying depths.

I am planning on ordering plants very soon starting with some java moss I'd like to get growing on the branches. Suggestions for other plants that would go nicely are very appreciated.
