FInally! Success

So i set up my 55G about 2 and a 1/2 weeks ago and decided to breed convicts for a food source ofr other fish.. so i bought 3 males and 3 females and i threw em in with some wood, and rock.. So i havert been home in about a week and ahalf becuase i am at school and i go home to check on the fish breeding status, and i see ntohing! DAMN i say, nothin... about 3 hours later i see a pair in my tank attacking everybody in sight, so i walk over and see about 50 babies swimmin about a half inch off the sand... So it took me almost 3 weeks but now i got some Breedin fish.. Now i just got some Female JD's to hopefu,ly start off the long breeding Electric blue dempsay process.

why anyone is encouraging someone to breed fish for the sole purpose of feeding is beyond me!!

All fish WILL acept dead food its just a matter of training and to see people support live feeds is poor to say the least.

so when are you going to start the electric blue program?do you already have a blue or is it just the feamle regular so far?I want to do this too!if you have the blue can you post some pics??

I have heard that if you breed electric blue dempsey's you may not always get electric blue fry. you might end up with regular as well as electric.

Heres some Ebjd Proof... i meant pics.. and yea i got some hopefully Female JD's and i dropped them in for him, i got 2 hopefull females in there with my studblu... so we'll see if he likes them... any foods that promote breeding>? or tips besides temp?


the first pic is an old pic of the Blu guy.. but the last ones are like a few weeks ago.. hes more blu in person, i just cant get his color from this friggan Nikon Coolpix camera...
Oh by the way, he got a real Dark blu when i dropped in the Jd's.. maybe flashin them to show off???

Its a long process, i need to get the Electric blu to breed with a female regular Dempsey.. then i need to raise the offspring and breed the Electric blu male again with one of his daughters, that has then Blu gene... then i bred those 2, and i get 50% offspring i think...
