I know it probably doesnt excite you guys too much but I felt I needed to tell someone as my family does not share the same joys in fish keeping as I do. I was finally able to arrange 4 2" cichla ocellaris delivered to my door for $80. I have a 20 gallon ready for them that has been long established and will definately be able to andle the bio-load. I was wondering how long you guys think that I could keep 4 2" cichla ocellaris in a 20 gallon for because I plan on transferring them to the 90 which is also established when they are to big for the 20.

a month and a 1/2 tops. post some picture, sure would like to see them.

Im thinking a month or two max!

and yes pics please.. :)

Agreed, I'm also saying about a month but the max is 2. Pbass grows fast as he**. You won't be expecting it. :D

ok scratch that. Do you guys think putting them straight into the 90 gallon with a tank divider would work. With the amount of food I feed the oscar and the amount of water changes I do on it I think they would be fine there to. The oscar is about 5-6" do you think I could powerfeed the little cichla and catch them up to the oscar fairly quickly?

I wouldnt they grow quick but are still delicate at a young age and size, grow them a bit in the 20 then put them in the 90.

^^YEP,YEP...and you can control the temp. better in a 20 then the 90.

Ok sweet so the temp is like 86-87 farenheit, should I add a little salt as prevention of ich? I've never cared for baby pbass and I have been doing a fair bit of research around here and I don't want to risk ich on any of them because I don't know when I will be able to get more of these guys.
