So after much searching driving buying buying buying buying waiting reading fixing waiting buying....it's done!

Any comments or suggestions on how to tweak the decor? Aside from going bare bottom which I'm entirely unwilling to do. This is my first crack at bichirs large scale, so if you see something that requires changing let me know!

The stock is 3 ornate, one lap, one endli and one palmas. Not a tinfoil barb hes a bala shark.
As soon as the tank was setup a neighbor asked if i wanted "a huge fish" for it. He'd been living in a 30 gal the last 3 and a half years. I couldnt say no after seeing him in there. I know they prefer schools, but im not loading my tank down with bala sharks to make my rescue fish happy haha. He gets an extra 150 gallons and nitrates below 90 ppm, no buddies!

Ill post a few close ups tomorrow when everyone wakes up...or goes to sleep, whatever they do. The acrylic isn't perfectly clear as it has some good scratches, but ill do what i can!

I like your tank setup! very natural looking. I'm starting to regret going bare bottom. what type of sand are you using?

The tanks looks good. Take out a piece of driftwood so it doesn't look cluttered. Other than that I like the setup.

There is nothing wrong with a bare bottom setup if done right.:)
