Already went back with the same gravel but starting to wish I would have went with sand.Only took one hour to scrap mask and repaint the tank. All the work was cutting the piece to fit. It's like hundreds of years old and took 4 saw saw blade to cut.It also took awhile to get all the gravel out and the tank and clean it for silicone.Bad thing is the tannin are worse than I was hopping.I will take picture tomorrow when I put the pumps one the back instead of the front. The paint was still wet when I filled it

Nice piece of driftwood. I wanna do sand, but it just seems like it is more difficult to vac and otherwise. Someday......

The sand you get at the hardware store is a pain to clean cause its fine and some comes up with it. And more flies around the tank while your bottom dwelling fish are swimming about. But I used pool filter sand in one of my tanks and I will defiantly pay the extra money for that. easy to clean and sinks in seconds.

Btw nice piece of driftwood

I use playsand, and didn't have much trouble cleaning it. I poured it abotu halfway up a 5 gallon bucket and ran it under water stirring it with my hand until it ran clear, took about 10 minutes to do the whole bag.

The first tank I used it in i didn't wash it and had to do 3 100% water changes and after that + a week it was mostly clear. After I started washing the playsand, my last tank took about 20 minutes to clear up.
