I can finally get a snake! But it came at a cost. I have no fish now. I am going to start buying bedding, hides, heat emitters, etc. in the next days. I am having trouble picking out a snake. I am only looking at snakes under the genus Pituophis, Lampropeltis, or Pantherophis. So far I have looked at honduran milks, Bulls, corns, texas ratsnakes, etc. I have also looked at some hybrids like Turbo Cornsnakes(pituophis sp. X cornsnake) and Jungle Cornsnakes(California kingsnake X Cornsnake) All of them yearlings. What do you think I should get that isnt insanely expensive?

Considering what genera that you prefer, I say get a Honduran milk snake or a Pueblan milk snake.
my vote is for a western hognose! they don't bite, stay small, hearty and inexpensive.
if it's a baby, just make sure it's already eating mice. they eat mostly toads in the wild, so if it's not taking mice already you could have a hard time switching them over.

^ I love Hoggies, they make such great pets. I love mine, he's one of the most entertaining pets I have.
I prefer gopher snakes and bull snakes. but I never had snakes. just thinkin they would look cool and arent venomous
