Hey everyone, I have a 3d rock background and I found my common pleco chewing on it an actually do some damage to it so I had to get rid of him. I still want a pleco but I'm not sure which one will be safe to have in my tank with the background. Anybody know what would be a good pleco to get? Here's a pic of the background, it's made of a tough polyurethane industrial foam.

Bristlenose are way to go unless your willing to spend some money on fancy plecos, clown plecos are also great choice..
I can't help but notice that you have small arowana on your small tank. Just to warn you that some people here will burn you because your tank is too small for the arowana.. Just warning.... i replied because of your question. Good luck on your search and post pic here whatever you decide to get. Nice background btw

I know the tank is too small and I plan to give him a bigger home when he gets too big for the tank. And I'm not worried about the price of the pleco I just want to know what kind I can get without it damaging my background.

Any plecos that eat algae will damage this. If algae removal is not your concern and you like plecos, get plecos like vampire or sunshine that are carnivores. They will leave the background alone, but they won't eat algae.

Ya I don't care about the algae, I clean that myself. Are those the only carnivorous Plecos?
