So i've been looking at moving out of my dorm and off campus. Of all the apartments i have looked at the pet policy seems to consider cat/dog but only one included tanks. Where the rule was no tanks over 10 gallons.
I see pics on this site of rooms full of tanks in your "apartments" so i figure they must be out there?

Do i just have to do the logical thing and find one with no basement/garage underneath? Just looking for some insight as to where you guys are staying and what its like. Tanks are 75, 55, 55, 40.

Thanks

i have 3 tanks in my apartment. i asked though and they said its ok. i also have renters insurance.

just ask if they allow aquariums. most dont have a problem with it. im sure if you lived on a ground floor apt they wouldnt mind

my lease says no, but the leasing agents say yes if it's under 20g on 2nd floor and yes to anything on first with renters insurance for all. I know if there's a problem they will pull the lease card, but I like to live dangerously.

Any older apartment complex is less likely to care then a new "ritzy" one. My fiance wanted to move to a certain subdivision that only had 1 apt complex, and they are new, nice, with all the "hip young crowd"... I think it's dumb and would be fine living in a lesser apt until we got our house next year.

Just wondering...what is below the first floor? Does that happen to be at ground level or is there a basement?

Im on the second floor in my new apartment. We asked if we could have an aquarium (didnt say size) and we got the go ahead so my 125 has a new home in the dining room!

Oh yeah, got a 29 in my bedroom too.

rent a house if you have the money and i dont think they will care. we rent a house because rent a round here is not cheap talking 800 a month for a 2br. in a ****y neighborhoood. so my 90,75,29 sit in the liveing room soon iwill frame out a 300 gallon plywood tank for the basement to be on the save side but land lords want your money so if you talk to them it should be cool
