Fine Tooth shark?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats a common name that ken moren(shark wrangler) uses for them. I don't know much about them but they do seem to have a cool look. Fine tooth is the real name for them, from what I can see.

Except the person advertizing this shark isn't Ken Moran. Ken moran's outfit is located near Charleston SC. This one is located in southeastern NC.

Most dealers state that Finetooth sharks get to about 5 ft long. The truth is that about the average size of an adult Finetooth. But they can grow to be more than 6 ft long. The Mini-bull name is little more than a advertizing ploy. Finetooth sharks have little in common with Bull sharks other than fact that they are both subtropical/tropical ORV requiem sharks.

A 5-6 ft Finetooth isn't nearly as stocky as a 5-6ft Bull shark is - despite some dealers claims. In terms of their build - an adult Finetooth is actually more comparable to blacktip reef, than a bull shark.

Actually from what I've been told Finetooths have some difficulty adapting to captivity. During the acclimation process it helps to reduce the salinity of the pool to basically a marine estuary (about 1.016-1.020SG or 22-27 ppt).

But from what I've heard - it's easier to keep a Blacktip reef than it a Finetooth.

I agree, I wouldn't keep this shark as your first swimming shark but if you have the tank for it and the know how, have at it:D
